Dialaphone’s top deals

Dialaphone is said to be the smart option for those looking into investing in a smartphone.

The site itself houses an assortment of deals online such as iPhone 4 contracts starting from as little as £31 per month. This includes receiving the handset for no extra cost at all, which is great news for those on a budget wanting to invest in the latest smartphone!

Other deals and offers include the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 for as little as £21.50 line rental. This particular handset comes with a range of line rental options and offers various minutes and text bundles such as the likes of unlimited texts and 500 minutes for £21.50 per month. Most of the deals also come complete with 500MB of mobile Internet and unlimited Wi-Fi access. This is great news for those that love to keep up to date with friends, family and business colleagues through email or alternatively through any one of the many existing social networking sites.

The tariffs provided offer connection with an assortment of operators. This allows customers to stick to their preferred operator.

When choosing a tariff you should think carefully about what you really want from your handset, otherwise you could end up paying extra on top of your monthly line rental, for using more minutes, texts or data than you actually needs.

If you are the type of person that sends emails regularly and prefers to stay in contact that way or needs to resource info from various sites then a contract with unlimited data allowance may suit you more than something that offers unlimited texts and minutes.

Those who tend to talk to friends, family and work colleagues a lot should instead invest in something that offers a great talk and text package. Search for great cheap mobile phones at the Dialaphone website, and start saving today!

HTC EVO 3D Heading to UK Shortly

Europe awaits the invasion from America – no, this is not a World War 2 joke – this is the release of the EVO 3D by HTC which was first released on the American market a few months ago.

The Taiwanese firm has released a number of great phones in the last few years and some good but sterile phones of late. So how does the HTC perform and is it worth them sending it over from state side? Do the Brits have a love of 3D gimmickry on par with those across the pond and is the phone good enough to satisfy those needs?

Well the first thing we’ll look at is the one you want to know about – the 3D. The phone is an excellent 3D device and offers users a wonderful experience in this area relative to what has been released previously. The HTC EVO’s large 4.3in screen is excellent for viewing stereoscopic images on. Its ability to stream 3D footage from the Watch service is also welcome and places it ahead of all other phone manufacturers as it allows quality 3D footage to be watched via its screen.

The 3D recording abilities of the phone are also quite good. It can record and take photos via the 3D medium and does so in a fantastic manner. You can watch footage in 720p and take 5mp photos with the device. The screen shows these with quite a large area for movement – more than any 3D devices we have seen so far on the market.

The phone itself handles all this with ease due to its 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. This is what makes the phone good, as it is a fast and capable phone for everyday use as well as offering a great 3D experience.

It also comes with Android 2.3 and HTC Sense, meaning it is what they call a ‘smooth operator’ stateside.

One of the downsides of the device is its weight – it is over 170g – far from light. It is also quite thick with a width of 12.1mm – all the 3D technology has to fit somewhere. The device also comes with a 1.3mp front facing camera for video calling, has DLNA streaming for 2D and 3D footage and a large 1730mA battery to top it all off and ensure the device is powered after all your fidgeting with its 3D capabilities and multi tasking.

So, yes Europe awaits and fortunately for not much longer with EVO 3D deals expected in the coming months.

The Sony Xperia Play Captures Hearts and Minds

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play is essentially a genetic splice between an Android smartphone and a PlayStation controller.
Although Sony was a little late in adopting Android as its major operating system, and initially fell behind the huge market surge in smartphone sales that was the direct result of Android, the Xperia Play Sony Ericsson’s is helping bring the company into the innovative smartphone market.

In order to differentiate itself from the rest of the market, it was essential for Sony that they come up with something entirely novel that would capture the hearts and minds of smartphone users. Capitalising on their PlayStation market they developed a smartphone with a game controller that slid out from the phone in a similar manner to the way some smartphones incorporate a physical keyboard. This controller has a direction control pad, mechanical control buttons, and central circular control pads.

The phone comes with six pre-installed games which benefit enormously from the phone’s 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. They run very smoothly indeed and the physical buttons mean that valuable display area is not taken up with virtual control buttons. The display is also very clear and bright with rapid response times so there is no discernable visual lag.

The games are PlayStation certified and games developers have taken up the challenge to develop new and port older games to the Xperia Play and Sony have released a number of development tools in order to expedite this process. So far there are around 60 compatible games, but sources say that this is likely to climb to over 150 by the end of 2011.

If you are a dedicated gamer, or even a frequent one, then this is likely to be the smartphone for you. The only possible criticism is that because of the slide out game controller the phone is obviously somewhat thicker that other Android phones, however, if you love playing games while on the move then this is a price that is worth paying.

Certainly Sony took a gamble with this device and it is the company’s most innovative product since the Walkman. Get the new Sony Xperia Pearl and other great mobile phone deals today at dialaphone, visit the site now at http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/

Samsung Wave

The Samsung Wave 2 is the highly anticipated follow up to the original (and very popular) Samsung Wave handset; running on Bada gives Samsung the chance to give rise to its own app store.

This latest Wave handset from Samsung is a thin, polished looking affair; it has an exceptionally clear 3.7-inch LCD screen, which looks superb. Other features on its hardware list include a 1GHz processor, HSDPA, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity and a quality five megapixel camera (which features 720p video recording options). Although these are certainly features that you would expect to find on a high-end smartphone, there is a distinct lack of anything that could be classed a marked improvement on the original Samsung Wave, which may leave some users questioning the need to incur the cost of upgrading to this latest handset (in fact, the only area that the Wave 2 actually beats its predecessor hands down is its doubling of internal storage capacity – from 1GB to 2GB). Despite this, there are some slight aesthetic improvements to the Wave 2 and the overall feel of the handset is a slight improvement on the original.

The Samsung Wave 2 runs Bada, with TouchWiz handling the UI on top; the system flows very well, and even people who have not encountered this particular coupling before will have no problem in navigating the menus with ease. There is plenty of scope for customisation with unique widgets and home screens which should keep users coming back for more for quite some time.

Some users have experienced a few minor gripes with the Wave 2, which include complaints about its lack of widgets (combined with an under-stocked app store), a lack of smart dialling and a poor social networking integration system. With these complaints aside, there is still plenty to get excited about with the Wave 2, such as its excellent battery life, good text entry and highly functional web browser – all in all, the Wave 2 is a competent smartphone which should find many fans who admire a solid overall package.
